San Francisco, winter of 2008.

Uncle Ted, and family took Bryan, James and I to San Francisco, winter of 2008. It rained the whole time. we had a blast.

The City and County of San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 13th most populous city in the United States, with a 2008 estimated population of 808,976.[7] It is the most densely populated city in the state, the second[9] most densely populated major city in the U.S.,[10] and is the financial, cultural, and transportation center of the larger San Francisco Bay Area, a region of more than seven million people.[11][12] The city is located at the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and San Francisco Bay to the north and east.

In 1776, the Spanish established a fort at the Golden Gate and a mission named for Francis of Assisi. The California Gold Rush in 1848 propelled the city into a period of rapid growth, transforming it into the largest city on the West Coast at the time. After being devastated by the 1906 earthquake and fire, San Francisco was quickly rebuilt.

Muir Woods National Monument

/

Muir Woods National Monument is a unit of the National Park Service in Marin County, California, 12 miles (19 km) north of San Francisco and part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It protects 559 acres (2.26 km2)[1], of which 240 acres (0.97 km2) are old growth Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) forests[2], one of a few such stands remaining in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In the winter of 2008; Bryan, James and I went to the Muir woods with Uncle Ted, Greg and friends. It was a great hike.

Ronald Regan's favorite bean.
James, Bryan and I took the tourwhen we were heading from Davis to San Francisco.
The tour is fun, a little too long however, but well worth the stop. It was amazing to see hundreds of cement mixers making the beans and billions at a time. Great candy store inside as well. We went in the Winter of 2008.
